A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hey there,

Have you ever come across a book or a story that leaves you in awe and wonder? Well, that's exactly what happened to me when I stumbled upon "The Circular Ruins" by Jorge Luis Borges - a masterpiece of surrealism or magic surrealism, which, in my opinion, is underrated.

As an Art student, I was so fascinated by this story that I decided to make it my final project this term. So, I built a Visual Novel for it with artworks inspired by Tarot cards and Medieval illustrations. Although it's my first-time coding (yeah, spaghetti code lol), I tried my best to make it simple and easy to navigate. All you need to do is click and go through the game.

While reading the original story, I couldn't help but feel chills down my spine. So, in my game, I expanded on it and created 5 different endings, each with a symbol and a deeper meaning behind it. It was a challenging yet exciting project, and I'm proud of what I've accomplished.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the beauty and power of Surrealism. Who are we, really? What is our purpose? These are the questions that I hope my project will inspire you to ponder upon.

Have a good one,

Twee (thuy)

I used Ren'Py to make this so it's ideal to run on Ren'Py. Otherwise, if you look inside the zip file there should be an exe file,  run it to  play the game.

Just finished all endings. Very unique look and feel to the game. The art is gorgeous! I like the mystical, mythical tone. One minor complaint that completely took me out of the story was the word 'Dad'. I really recommend using 'Father' instead. 'Dad' sounds way too modern, and in fact I almost laughed when I read it. I also recommend one more proofread, as I noticed spelling and punctuation issues. Otherwise, very interesting concept, and yeah, that art...<3. Thank you!

Oh, proofreading... That is quite a valid point you made, as I rushed to publish it before the school deadline. I truly appreciate you pointing that out; it shows you paid close attention to the plot. I will keep you updated once I've fixed the script.

Thanks for all your comments!

For those of us who can't read, lol, could you switch the icons for the downloads? You've got the Windows/Linux icons next to the mac.zip and vice versa. I looked at the icons and downloaded mac.zip by mistake. :P :D
